Our Story

RadiusVision was founded in 2009 with a clear mission: build industrial-grade video surveillance systems that work in places where nothing else does.

Remote oil fields with no power grid. Mining operations buried in dust and extreme temperatures. Construction sites that change location every six months. Pipeline corridors stretching across hundreds of miles of open terrain. These are the sites that off-the-shelf security cameras were never designed to handle.

We saw the gap. Organizations operating in isolated, extreme, and temporary environments needed surveillance systems that could deploy fast, operate independently, and survive conditions that destroy consumer-grade equipment. So we built them — from the ground up.

What We Do

RadiusVision designs, sells, and supports industrial-grade video and control systems. We specialize in off-grid, battery and solar powered wireless intrusion detection systems to protect job sites, remote locations, and challenging projects.

What makes us different is what happens under our roof. We do in-house engineering, system design, and assembly. That means we do not just resell someone else's camera on a pole. We engineer complete systems — selecting and configuring enclosures, wiring power management circuits, assembling mounting hardware, and integrating cameras, radar, sensors, and connectivity into a single deployable unit tailored to your site.

Our product line spans the full spectrum:

  • Portable surveillance — Battery-powered, solar-powered, rapid deploy kits, and mobile trailers that go where permanent infrastructure cannot
  • Permanent systems — Fixed wireless, radar-based intrusion detection, AI video analytics, and satellite connectivity for sites that demand continuous coverage
  • Software and platform — Video management, mobile apps, cloud monitoring, and analytics dashboards that turn footage into actionable intelligence
  • System components — Cameras, sensors, power systems, and connectivity hardware engineered and assembled in-house

Who We Serve

Our customers operate in the industries where security is both critical and difficult:

  • Construction — Protecting equipment, materials, and progress on sites that change daily
  • Commercial Properties — Securing properties, equipment rentals, and laydown yards
  • Mining and Heavy Industry — Securing operations in remote, extreme environments with no infrastructure
  • Gas and Oil — Monitoring pipelines, wellheads, and refineries across vast distances
  • Utilities and Critical Infrastructure — Defending power substations, water treatment plants, municipal water supply, and renewable energy installations (including solar farms)
  • Law Enforcement and First Responders — Providing rapid-deploy surveillance for active scenes, investigations, and disaster response
  • Scientific Studies — Remote monitoring for research sites and environmental studies

Enterprise organizations trust RadiusVision, including ExxonMobil, Puget Sound Energy, and Oregon State University. From a single camera on a tripod to a full-perimeter radar detection system spanning thousands of feet — we scope the solution to the site.

Beyond hardware, we provide four core services: Monitoring Service (24/7 remote video monitoring), Technical Support (dedicated specialists with deep product expertise), Installation Service (comprehensive remote support enables customer self-installation), and Consulting (system design and configuration for your specific environment).

Leadership

  • Jeff Sandine — Chief Executive Officer

Jeff Sandine founded RadiusVision in 2009 and leads the company's strategic direction, client relationships, and product development. A serial entrepreneur with 40+ years in security and technology and 10+ businesses founded, Jeff launched one of the first technology companies in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood in 1984 — Ballard Computer — which grew into the largest, most successful retail computer business in the Pacific Northwest. That decades-deep technology foundation drives RadiusVision's engineering-first approach to industrial surveillance. Under Jeff's leadership, RadiusVision has grown from a specialized startup to a trusted partner for enterprise organizations across construction, energy, mining, and public safety — serving world-class companies including ExxonMobil and Puget Sound Energy. Based in the Greater Tucson area, Jeff continues to lead product development, strategic partnerships, and the in-house engineering culture that sets RadiusVision apart.

  • Steve the Security Expert — Senior Surveillance Technology Specialist

Steve the Security Expert represents the deep technical expertise at RadiusVision — 40+ years of combined experience in security technology. This role handles system configuration, field troubleshooting, and complex integration challenges. Steve is also the voice behind the Tech Talk series — 28 technical articles that have become the most-read resource on the RadiusVision website and a knowledge base no competitor can match.

  • Matt Shoemaker — Chief Technology Officer / Design Engineer

Matt Shoemaker brings 30+ years of technology experience to RadiusVision's engineering and product design. As CTO, Matt leads the technical architecture of RadiusVision's surveillance systems — from power management and communications to edge computing and camera integration. His hands-on design engineering drives the custom-build capability that lets RadiusVision deliver solutions tailored to each client's specific site conditions.

  • John Elissiry — Law Enforcement & Security Specialist

John Elissiry has 35+ years of experience spanning law enforcement, government, and private security. His expertise in cameras, video management systems, security operations, and risk management bridges the gap between field requirements and technical capability — particularly for RadiusVision's law enforcement and public safety clients.

  • Griffin Berlin — Operations Manager

Griffin Berlin brings 25+ years of management and operations experience to RadiusVision's day-to-day execution — ensuring client projects move from design to deployment on schedule and on spec.

  • Shari Danann — CPA / Chief Financial Officer

Shari manages RadiusVision's financial operations and also provides accounting services to the company's clients and vendor partners.

Our Values

Custom-Engineered, Not Resold

We do not resell off-the-shelf cameras. We design, configure, and assemble complete surveillance systems in-house. Every system is custom-engineered for the specific conditions it will face.

Real People, Real Expertise

When you call RadiusVision, you talk to the people who designed and built your system. No call centers. No ticket queues. Our dedicated technical specialists answer the phone. That is what real support means here.

We Go Where Others Will Not

No power? No internet? No road? Those are the sites we specialize in. Solar, battery, and satellite connectivity let us deploy surveillance in locations that other companies simply decline to serve.
