Each Videofied camera includes an accelerometer that monitors camera position, similar to smartphone sensors. When a camera is moved — whether by intruders, strong winds, or falling branches — the tamper feature activates and sends a signal to the central station.
If the site is armed, police dispatch occurs based on the assumption that someone is attempting to defeat your security system.
If the site is disarmed, the contact list receives notification so you can verify the camera and determine if movement indicates potential break-in planning.
Preventing False Alarms
To avoid false tamper signals:
- Mount cameras as securely as possible
- Attach knuckle mount hardware to the camera snugly
- Ensure the base mount doesn't unscrew
- Secure the base firmly to the mounting surface to minimize movement
